It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Nathan Ferguson. Nathan will be deeply missed by his wife, Mona, his cherished children, Bridgette, Azayah, and Domenic, his grandson, Silas, and his sisters, Roberta (“Bobbie”) Wallace and Wendy Ferguson. He is predeceased by his father, Dennie Chin, and is survived by his mother, Helen Ferguson.
Above all else, Nathan lived for his children, who were the center of his universe and his greatest pride. Every decision and sacrifice he made was with them in mind, celebrating their accomplishments and loving them unconditionally with an unwavering bond that will continue to guide them forever.
Nathan was a remarkable individual with a personality that was truly larger than life. Generous, hilarious, and endlessly warm, he was a genuine people person who naturally put the needs and happiness of others before his own. He loved nothing more than making people laugh and had a smile that could effortlessly light up any room. In fact, his passion for bringing joy to others led him to recently pursue his dream of performing stand-up comedy.
His dedication and strong work ethic were equally evident in his professional life throughout his 26-year career with the TTC, where he earned the respect of his colleagues regardless of what his role or title was. Beyond his career, Nathan poured his heart into his community, passionate about coaching his own children and youth in sports. He inspired confidence, teamwork, and the competitive spirit of the game but what mattered most was the person they became from all that they learned through sport.
Taken from us far too young at only 50 years of age, Nathan leaves behind a legacy of selfless love, unforgettable humor, and a profound impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered always and missed beyond measure.
A funeral visitation will be held on Monday November 9, 2026, at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Nathan’s memory to KidSport Canada – Toronto Chapter (https://kidsportcanada.ca/ontario/toronto/donate/). Nathan’s lifelong love of sport brought him immense joy and connection, and nothing would honor his memory more than ensuring that no kid is ever left watching from the sidelines.
