Natalia DeFreitas, age 93, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026. Born in Madeira, Portugal, Natalia grew up with a kindness and strength that would define her entire life. She married her beloved predeceased husband, João and together they made the courageous journey from Portugal to Canada, where they built a life rooted in family, hard work, and quiet resilience.

To those who knew her, Natalia was a woman of gentle grace, compassion, and unwavering strength. She lived humbly, offering love and support without expectation, and leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Her greatest joy was her family. Natalia’s true legacy is not found in possessions, but in kindness, perseverance, and love. She lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her children John (Lori) and Joe (Yvone); her cherished grandchildren Jonathan, Natalie, Jason, Michael, Nicole Daniel and Damiano; and her great-grandchildren Leo, Cate, Jaxon, Luna, Charlie, and Jordan. Natalia was predeceased by her beloved son, Alberto DeFreitas (Mary).

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
