Milorad (Mike) Krickovic passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He lived a long full life, filled with laughter, adventure and unforgettable moments.
Mike was the cherished husband of Jelka Krickovic for 58 years, and loving father to his son, Stevan, daughter Marija, and her husband, Rilly. He was known as “Dedo” to his two adored grandchildren, Tatiana and Alexander; Mike’s family was his greatest joy.
Born on August 12, 1933, in Grubisno Polje, former Yugoslavia, Mike grew up with his mother, Radmila, and was a survivor of WWII. Before making Canada his home, he played soccer for Banja Lucki Borac, a professional team in Banja Luka. He immigrated to Canada by boat through Halifax in 1962, where he soon married Jelka and settled in Toronto, in the College and Dufferin area.
Mike worked for over 25 years as a manager at Inglis Limited, retiring only to start a new chapter with his wife, launching MK Industries, a pad printing company. Along the way, he built a wide network of friends, always striking up conversations with anyone he met—whether in a coffee shop or at the schoolyard while picking up his grandchildren. His warm smile and quick wit made him a beloved character everywhere he went.
Mike aka “buddy” had a big heart, and his love for his family was infinite. One of his greatest joys was capturing moments for his family through photography. He would then turn those pictures into beautiful collages and give them to his loved ones. He had a deep love for the game of soccer—he never missed a game. And when it came to horse racing, Mike was always ready with his own predictions. But one thing everyone knew about Mike was his fondness for asking family and friends for their Lotto 649 numbers—something that became a bit of a signature move for him, along with his playful jokes.
Mike lived a long and healthy life—so healthy, in fact, that he never had a single record in the hospital. We are incredibly grateful to the wonderful staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Eatonville Long-Term Care for their care and compassion over the last 7 months.
Mike will be fondly remembered for his humor, his kind spirit, and the warmth he brought into every room.
