It is with great sadness that we announce the conclusion of a very active and productive life. Mike Kawzenuk of Oshawa passed on Tuesday October 6th, 2026, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 92nd year with his family by his side.

Mike will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 70 years Margaret (nee Palmer), his two children Catherine (Glen) and Michael (Karen) and his sister Irene McNamara. Mike is predeceased by his brothers Bill and Paul. He will be lovingly remembered by his 5 grandchildren Graig (Eleanor), Kristin (Justin), Chelsey (Thomas), Stephanie (Michael) and Brian (Sarah) and his 8 great-grandchildren Kathryn, Emma, Malcolm, Thomas, Mason, Riley, Keegan and Henry. Mike is predeceased by his beloved orange cats, David and David II. Mike will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the medical staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their compassionate care in Mike’s final days. We wish to especially recognize the staff on 8G and 5F.

A Service will be held on Friday October 23, 2026, at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE (1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, 905-579-6787), with visitation from 11am until time of service at 12pm. Friends and family are invited to the Oshawa Golf Club, located at 160 Alexandra Street, Oshawa, following the service for a celebration of Mike’s incredible life.
