In memory of

Mary Josephine "Jo" Cobbledick

March 30, 1927 - January 25, 2026

Obituary for Mary Josephine (Jo) Cobbledick
March 30, 1927 – January 25, 2026
It is with deep sadness the family of Mary Josephine (Jo) Cobbledick announces her passing on January 25, 2026 at Fairhaven LTC in Peterborough Ontario. Born March 30, 1927 in Oshawa, Ontario. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Patrick Cobbledick (2005). Much loved mother of Nancy (Steve) Hartwick of Indian River and Brad (Karen) Cobbledick of Flamborough. Proud grandma to Carie (Frank), Jeff (Alex) and Jason. Great-grandma to Conner, Rose, Jasper and Avery. Loving sister-in-law to Mary Babcock. Incredible aunt to Deb, Mary Anne, Cathy, Patti and Lori-Jo. Jo was predeceased by her mother, Mabel, brothers Jack and Stewart, sister Joyce, son James, daughter Mary Jo and grandson Lorne.
Jo was a beacon of positivity to all the people that she knew. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She was very thankful for each day and to all those that she loved. Jo always enjoyed listening to music, singing along, clapping, tapping, whistling, however she could connect to it. She was always up for a good joke, with a hearty laugh, whether it was funny or not! Jo always liked to be active. She was an accomplished bowler in her day, winning many individual championships. After she hung up her bowling shoes, she took up clogging and enjoyed swim classes with her friends. She always looked forward to a game of cards and usually enjoyed it even more when she beat you!
The family would like to thank the staff at Fairhaven LTC in Peterborough, especially Westview 4, for taking great care of Jo in her final years. She was always quick with a smile and a “thanks honeybun!” for the staff. They always had much love for her.
Cremation and a private family internment service will take place at Thorton Funeral Centre in Oshawa Ontario. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in Jo’s name.
Jo’s radiance will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
Rest in peace.
