In memory of

Martin Stein

February 5, 1944 - February 7, 2026

After a long and well-lived life, Martin Stein passed away peacefully at home on Sat. Feb. 7, 2026, just two days after celebrating his 82nd birthday.

For over 61 years, he remained a devoted husband to his wife Avie. He took great pride in his family; his daughters Jo-anna and Terri, and his grandchild Ray, loving them steadfastly - as shown through his constancy, loyalty, and quiet strength.

He had a deep passion for his work as a CFO in the hospital industry (Mt. Sinai, North York General and Sunnybrook) modernizing internal systems for the benefit of both patients and medical professionals alike.

Known for his dry sense of wit, he often delivered a remark so subtle that “those not in the know” were left shaking their heads, which he always found amusing.

He loved to travel, and he and Avie adventured from Israel to China to France to Australia, always seeing the world with curious eyes.

He bore his own struggles stoically, never wanting to burden anyone, and carried himself with dignity throughout his life.

He will be remembered with love for his integrity, his quiet humour, and the deep devotion he showed to his family every day.
