In memory of

Mark Saddleton

May 14, 1970 - June 12, 2025

Mark David Saddleton died peacefully on June 12, 2025, at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, following a courageous two-year battle with cancer. He was 55.

Born in Nassau, Bahamas, on May 14, 1970, to Valerie and John Saddleton, Mark lived his life with kindness, humour, and passion. His early years took him across the globe, from the Bahamas to Luxembourg, the UK, and Canada – experiences that shaped his character and his love of adventure.

Mark returned to Toronto in 2001 with his beloved wife, Lucy, where together they raised their three children, Jessica, Sophie, and Henry. His family was the center of his world, and his greatest joy came from time spent with them, whether at home, exploring Canada, or traveling together to Mexico, the UK, and back to the Bahamas – making cherished memories along the way.

Professionally, Mark was a respected and inspiring leader at Sony of Canada where he spent 24 years as a mentor to many, and he helped to shape the business and culture. His dedication, passion for the business, positive outlook and inclusive spirit left a lasting impact on his colleagues and friends.

Mark was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he will be deeply missed.

Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Lucy, and their children, Jessica, Sophie, and Henry; his loving mother, Valerie; his brothers, John Paul and Toby; his nieces, Vivian, Georgia, and Beth; his nephew, Joseph; his sisters-in-law, Nicky and Erin; his brother-in-law, Ben; his step-mother, Anne; and step-brothers, Marcus (and his wife Francesca) and Gregor. He also leaves behind his parents-in-law, Frances and Tony; his aunt, Maureen; and his cousins, Wendy, Robert, Phil, and Guya.

His death leaves a gaping hole in all our hearts.

He was predeceased by his loving father, John; his step-father, Frank; and his uncles, Hugh and Richard.

With grateful thanks to the team at the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital, and all the doctors, nurses and support staff in C2 ward for their dedication and compassion.

A private memorial service will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre on June 27.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Mark’s memory be made to Sunnybrook Hospital. A donation link can be found at the top of this page.
