Maria Zanis, born in Kelli, Greece, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, in Markham, Ontario, at the age of 96.

Dearly beloved wife of the late Christos, wonderful Mama to Avgula (Chris), Roula (Niko), Vas (Bill) and Alexia (Gabe). She was a cherished Yiayia to Fotini (Tom), Bob (Ivette), Lucas, Rebecca, Greyson, and Spencer and an adoring Great Yiayia to Ethan and Olivia. She will also be missed by her siblings and extended family.

A caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Maria was loved by everyone who met her. Her greatest joy was cooking delicious meals and spending time with her family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Maria was a faithful Greek Orthodox Christian who carried her faith and Greek heritage with her throughout her life. Her devotion to God, her love of family, and the values she held dear were reflected in all that she did. She leaves behind a family forever shaped by her strength, devotion, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
