It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria Beatriz Costa on Monday, June 9, 2025 with her family by her side.

Maria Beatriz, daughter of the late Carlos and Conceicao DeFreitas was born on November 27, 1953 in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. She immigrated to Canada at 16 years old and spent the rest of her life living in the greater Toronto area. Maria Beatriz leaves behind her loving husband of fifty years, Mario Jorge. She was the loving mother of Michael (Guida), Marc (Deana) and Matthew (Rachel) and proud grandmother of Brandon, Joseph, Benjamin and Logan. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
