In memory of

MacLellan Sadie Marie

February 5, 1942 - May 10, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sadie Marie MacLellan, who passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day at the age of 84, surrounded by the love of her family. Sadie was a proud and devoted mother of seven children, and nothing brought her greater joy than her family.

Born in the small outport community of François, Newfoundland, to John and Mary Durnford (née Keeping), Sadie carried the warmth, resilience, and spirit of her Newfoundland roots throughout her life. As a young woman, she moved to Nova Scotia, where she met and married Donald MacLellan of East Bay. Together they built a life and raised their family in Toronto.

She leaves behind her loving children, Edward (Linda), Dawn, Paula (Andrew), Susan (Mike), Catherine (Tim), and John (Gigi). She was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael, whom she carried in her heart always. Sadie was a cherished grandmother to Jason, David, Amanda (Matt), Jordan (Chelsea), Caitlyn (Lance), Michael (Erica), Kiera, Christopher, and Aidan, and great-grandmother to Alexis and Riley. She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers Alex, Philip (Rosemary), and Jack. Sadie was also predeceased by her brother Eric, as well as her sisters-in-law Shirley and Eileen. She will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, and deep love for her family.

A special "Thank You" to the caring staff at Malton Village long-term care.

A private family service will be held later.

“Forever loved and always remembered.”
