It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lina D’Amico on Friday May 1, 2026 at the age of 82, surrounded by the love of her family.
Beloved wife of Attilio for 63 cherished years, she was truly the heart and soul of her family. Known for her nurturing spirit, gentle nature, kindness, and boundless generosity, she devoted her life to caring for those she loved.
A proud and devoted mother to Frank (Tracey) D’Amico, Anna Goodale, Vince (Maria) D’Amico, Clara (Nick) Conforti, and Virginia (Giancarlo) Vetrone. She had the rare and beautiful gift of making each of her five children feel as though they were all her “favourite.”
She was a loving and devoted Nonna to 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, with another 3 great-grandchildren on the way.
She is survived by her loving siblings in Italy.
She will be deeply missed by her loving grandchildren; Christopher (Nicole), Chloe (David), Amanda (Jesse), Anthony (Riley), Alessandro, Victoria (Nathan), Jordan, Antonette (Chad), Aliyah (James), Joseph, Angel-Lina (Aidyn) & Teresa and her great-grandchildren; Reign, Dawson, Elijah, Charlotte & Taylor Jean. As well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.
She is predeceased by her beloved parents, Vincenzo and Virginia Parise and her brother, Giovanni Parise.
Born in San Marco Argentano, Italy, Lina immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1966, where together they built a beautiful life and raised their family. She was an exceptional cook, a gifted gardener, and a talented seamstress whose strong, capable hands could create just about anything. Whether through a lovingly prepared meal, a handmade garment, or a flourishing garden, she showed her love in all that she did.
Her legacy is one of unconditional love, devotion to family, quiet strength, and remarkable generosity. She leaves behind a family forever shaped by her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Friends are invited to join the family at the Thornton Cemetery and Funeral Center, visiting Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 11am to 1pm followed by a service in the Gathering Hall from 1PM to 2PM.
