Lawrence Wai Chee Mark passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in the comforts of his home. Lawrence was born in Toisan, China and immigrated to Canada in the early 1960s, eventually settling in Toronto. Lawrence will be lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley of 63 years. Lawrence was a proud and devoted father to his four children - Wesley (Liza), Stanley (Cybelle), Kelly (Jiayi) and Andrew (Liping), grandfather to Tyler, Kristin, Matthew, Noah, Faith and Oliver, and dog great grandpaw to Po. He will also be dearly missed by many family, relatives, friends and colleagues. Lawrence loved the simple things in life, particularly food - such as seafood, steak, late night snacking, cheesecake, and Tim’s coffee - which also inspired him to be a restaurant co-owner and operator. He also enjoyed watching TV and supporting the Toronto Maple Leafs. May he rest in peace.
