In memory of

Larry Wendell Isaacson

January 15, 1950 - March 27, 2026

Larry Wendell Isaacson, age 76, of Toronto, Ontario, died peacefully in his sleep, at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. His wife Frances and his daughter Fiona were at his side.

Larry was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Wendell and Eleanor (Besonen) Isaacson.

He attended Michigan State University as an Evans Scholar and graduated in 1974 with an MBA.

In 1974, in response to Canada’s need for computer scientist experts, Larry moved to Toronto. He became a proud Canadian citizen in 1977.

As he continued in his career Larry later assumed managerial roles. In 2009, he retired as Director, Information Technology from the Toronto Community Housing.

Larry loved many forms of music, but especially classical. He would spend hours listening to orchestras from the around the world performing music of his favourite composers, especially Mahler and Shostakovich. His love of music was shared with his beloved Frances and together they were long-time subscribers of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Larry was also a member of the Toronto Mahler Society.

Larry loved driving around Lake Superior with his children, and enjoyed many trips to Scotland with Frances to walk the beautiful hills there.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Frances Campbell; daughter, Fiona Isaacson; sister, Janis (Dudley) Martin; brother, Jay (Karen) Isaacson; and many nieces and nephews.

He will also be missed by his many badminton friends in Toronto, and his lifelong Evans Scholar “brothers”.

It was Larry’s wish to be cremated with a private interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Special thanks to the many doctors, nurses, personal support workers at Princess Margaret for their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Larry’s name to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or the Movember Foundation.
