In Loving Memory of
Lai Ching Luk-Chan

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lai Ching Luk-Chan, on March 29, 2026, at the age of 98. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Lai was born in Toishan, Canton, China, on September 3, 1927. She later moved to Hong Kong in the 1950s before immigrating to Toronto in 1974 with her husband and three sons, reuniting with her three daughters. She built a life centered on family, love, and togetherness.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lily, Sophie, Monita (Tommy), Addy (Mary), Alan (Betty), and Tony, as well as her 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy to her.

As the cherished matriarch of the family, Mother Lai brought everyone together. She had a deep love for family gatherings and was known for her warmth, generosity, and kindness. She always put her family first and greeted everyone with a gentle smile and her heartfelt blessings. Her presence was a source of comfort and love, and she was truly adored by all who knew her—especially her large and close-knit family.

Her legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Mother Lai will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
