In the early hours of Monday, March 30, Lai-Man “Millie” Lau slipped peacefully into eternity with the Lord at the age of 93. During her final progression through dementia, she was comforted daily by her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lai-Man met life’s challenges with resilience, joy, and unwavering faith in Christ. She was a selfless mother of four and supporter of her husband, Tai-Han, and his business projects. Lai-Man helped operate a wonton noodle shop in Hong Kong. Following their arrival in Toronto, Canada, she and Tai-Han transitioned to employment in food processing and shoe manufacturing to provide for their family.
Post-migration, Lai-Man found solace and enduring spiritual community in the Toronto Ling Liang Church. She also provided essential childcare for her grandchildren. Lai-Man maintained an active social life, enjoying travel with her children and hosting banquets for family and friends well into her 80s.
Lai-Man is now reunited with her husband Tai-Han (Jan 8, 1922 - Apr 3, 2001). She is survived by her sister Margaret; her children Diana (Joseph), Eddie (Foulata), Foley (Eva), and Gary (Cynthia); her grandchildren Louise, Joanna (Kyle), Bernice, and Megan; her great-grandchildren Benjamin and Levi; and close extended family members including her nieces Susana (Dominic) and Roselyn (Alexander) and their daughters Alexandria, Jessica, Eva, Elaine (James), and Jenny (Andy).
