Tam Kwai Fong, a native of Nanhai in Foshan, Guangdong, was born on February 20, 1932. During her childhood, she endured war and poverty. At a young age, she moved to Guangzhou to work as a live-in domestic helper, where she was responsible for escorting her employer’s children to and from school. She later settled in Hong Kong where she met her husband.
In her early years in Hong Kong, she worked in garment and plastic flower factories to help support the family financially. She was a traditional Chinese homemaker, devoted to caring for her husband and children, and spent great effort preparing many delicious meals for her family. Although she did not receive a formal education, she deeply understood the importance of schooling and placed great emphasis on her children’s education.
In the early 1990s, the whole family immigrated to Toronto, Canada. There, she lovingly cared for her four grandchildren. In 2012, she made the decision to believe in the Lord, accepted Jesus Christ as her one and only Savior, and was baptized. In her spare time, she enjoyed travelling and playing mahjong with friends in Chinatown, living a simple and peaceful life.
