It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth (‘Ken/Kenny’) William Nash, aged 69, at Scarborough General Hospital on August 22, 2025. Ken was born in Toronto, Ontario on January 3rd, 1956, to Canadian Army Veterans Douglas and Mineva Nash.
Ken had a successful business and loved working in the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto’s St. Lawrence Market area. An avid biker, he rode his motorcycle to work and back home in time to have dinner with the family, and never missed an opportunity to bring home books, toys, and treats from the city.
Ken grew to serve as the foundation of the family, his dedication to caring for his parents and children never wavered. In his parents’ later years, Ken took care to ensure Doug and Mineva were united at Guildwood Extendicare to live their final years together, with exceptional support from the staff.
As a single dad, Ken provided a loving childhood to his children and found creative ways to create family memories, even during difficult times. He instilled strong values in his children, with the goal of creating a better life for each generation to come.
Ken was strong-willed until the end and chose to allow himself a peaceful passing in palliative care, watched over closely by his daughter, son, and close friends. We are heartbroken to say goodbye, but find peace in knowing he is reunited with his parents who he loved and cherished.
Ken is predeceased by his parents Douglas and Mineva Nash, and survived by his son, Douglas and daughter, Rachael.
If you’re able, we ask that you make a donation to Pancreatic Cancer Canada to honour Ken’s final testament of strength in battling one of the world’s deadliest cancers. Pancreatic cancer often goes undetected until it’s in later stages. There is much research to be done, and we hope that future lives can be saved.
