“Chatty Kathy” lived up to her nickname; she’d strike up conversations with anyone, anywhere, anytime. As a consequence she made new friends everywhere she went. She knew pretty much every neighbour in both Toronto and Estero. She loved socializing with her book club crew, creating living art at the Ivy Club, and conquering the golf course at her favourites, Copperleaf, The Toronto Ladies, and Port Carling. She had a sneaky good sense of humour and an infectious laugh, which was heard often during some favourite shows, The Reluctant Traveller with Eugene Levy, and The White Lotus.
She loved learning; whether it was through travel, reading voraciously, watching docs or attending talks.
Kathy was born in Haileybury and celebrated her Northern Ontario roots. She spent some teenage years living in Tucson Arizona for her lung health and then attended Havergal School in Toronto.
Kathleen Holliday (nee Murphy) passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025. She was pre-deceased by husband Andy, and brother Doug Murphy. She is survived by her son Josh Holliday, daughter Sarah (Bryan) Holliday-Manchul; beloved grandchildren Mackaylan and Hunter; her sisters Joan (JP) Soler and Nora Murphy; and her favourite "furry grandson," Boise.
