Kai-Wah Peter Wong of Toronto, passed away peacefully at Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care, on November 11, 2025, at the age of 97. He was born in Guangzhou, China, the ninth of ten siblings (all predeceased). Peter was a devoted husband to Kitty (predeceased August 5, 2025), a loving father to Margaret (Joseph Chow) and Jean, a playful grandfather to David Chow (Stephanie Tey), Rebecca Chow, Jonathan Chow, Ryan Holland (Annabel Thornton) and Owen Holland and a proud great-grandfather to Aaron Chow and Elizabeth Chow. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and former colleagues.

Peter was a dedicated physician and spent his medical career in the service of his patients. Having studied in various fields in medicine, including anaesthesia and surgery, his calling was family medicine. He spent the last years prior to his retirement in a solo family practice in the then-rural community of Acton, Ontario, where he cared for the growing population, often on call 7 days a week and still making house calls as needed.

While his career was noteworthy, it was his devotion to family that defined Peter. His courage and commitment to making a better life for his wife and daughters led him to emigrate to Canada in 1971 and start a new life. He taught his children and grandchildren the importance of a strong work ethic, the value of learning, and an adherence to a principled life. He never passed on an opportunity to share a life lesson.

Peter will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
