Our dear sweet Dad, John Galloway, took his last breath on September 17, 2026 with his daughters by his side. He was born to John and Margaret Galloway on June 19, 1934, in Edinburgh Scotland.

John is predeceased by his beloved wife, Everest (died August 5, 1996) as well as a host of other family and friends. He is survived by his daughters Maureen (Rob) and Allison. He adored his Grandchildren Samantha (Darren), Sarah (Jeremy), Carter, and Kimberley and Great-Grandson, Noah. He leaves behind three treasured siblings in Scotland, June, Isa, and Bill. Despite the distance, Dad loved receiving cards and phone calls from them and missed them dearly.

Dad met Mom in Scotland when she was on an extended visit, and they fell in love. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 so that they could be together. He loved carpentry & construction, cottaging, and sailing on his boat with Ev.

We would like to give our sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Flora Ricciutti (and staff), Dad’s family doctor for many years. Also to the staff at Prima Living Retirement Home "The Colonial" who cared for Dad like family over the past 3 years and did their best to extend his time at home. We would also like to thank the many caregivers through Ontario Health at Home who supported Dad through his health journey the last few years. Lastly, we thank the amazing Supportive Care team at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on 4F who were kind, compassionate, and provided gold standard care to Dad in his final weeks.

John will be deeply missed, but his love and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
