With deep sorrow and abiding love, we announce the passing of Jocelyn Bux, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, and the unmistakable force of nature that so many of us were blessed to call our own.

Jocelyn was born on April 7, 1938, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. She was the firstborn child and daughter of Carlton and Marjorie Bux. She was the eldest of nine siblings: Kenneth, Marcus, Aureola, Solomon, Mercia, Joseph, John, Abraham, and Laura.

She was deeply compassionate, always willing to help those less fortunate, and generous with whatever she had. She loved God, family, laughter, the beach, movies, and the company of others. Funny, wise, strong-willed, graceful, and never afraid to speak her mind, Jocelyn remained herself to the very end.

She leaves behind her beloved children: Geddes (Pamela), Ishier, Joshua (Denise), Victoria (Sid), and Allison (Damian), who carry with them the lessons, strength, creativity, humor, faith, and love she poured into their lives.

Her love continues through the next generation with her grandchildren: Kerry-Ann, Alicia (Kurt), Samantha (Richie), Jabez, Jenise, Kyon, Sonya, Sinead, Colleen, Tristan, Dominique, Ethan, Isabella, and Charles. And her legacy lives on yet again through her great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Alyssa, Zurie, Anais, Areema, and Shriya.

To Jocelyn, family was never simply a matter of names or generations. Family meant showing up. It meant feeding people, helping people, giving what you had - even when what you had wasn't much - and making sure the people you loved knew they were loved. She gave each generation a piece of herself: her creativity, her resilience, her wisdom, her humor, her generosity, her faith, and her humility.

To those who loved her, she was our Northern Light - a source of strength, wisdom, laughter, and love.
Her light will continue to shine through the generations she leaves behind.
May she rest in peace and in the loving presence of God.

A service celebrating Jocelyn’s life will be held at Meadowvale Funeral Centre on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 1:30 PM. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in remembering and celebrating her life.
