In memory of

James William Harold Carde

October 24, 1944 - June 15, 2026

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James William Harold Carde, who passed away on Monday June 15, 2026, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 81.

James was the beloved husband of Dorothy (nee: Lang), with whom he shared an extraordinary 62 years of marriage. Together they built a life filled with love, devotion, laughter and countless cherished memories. James was an avid stamp dealer and collector for the last 40 years. He loved watching car races and James Bond movies, listening to old time country music and Elvis Presley. In his younger days he loved to go fishing and hunting and camping, he was an avid 5 pin bowler, baseball player and coach.

A proud and loving father, James will be deeply missed by his children, Ben Carde (Theresa), Michele Carde (Predeceased John), Kim Broll(Stuart), and Sean Carde. He was a devoted grandfather to Sarah Attfield(Matthew), Rebecca Carde, Gabrielle Carde, Tyler Austin, Victoria Austin, Samantha Broll(Colbie), Phillip Broll, Ian Broll, and Karli Carde. James was also a cherished great-grandfather to Morgan Attfield and Nash McCarthy. James is lovingly remembered by his brother Dennis Carde, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Though our hearts are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in the many wonderful memories he leaves behind. James will be forever loved, deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

In keeping with the family wishes there will be no service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James’ honour, please consider the Alzheimer’s Society of Durham Region.
