It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Tsorlinis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. John passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, at the age of 97, surrounded by the love of his family.
John was born on July 10, 1928, in Vevi, Florina, Greece. A proud and devoted man, he served his native country in the Greek Army for four years before embarking on a new chapter in his life. In 1979, he immigrated to Canada with his family, where he built a life founded on hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
John was a gentle soul whose greatest joy came from his family. He was known for his kindness, humility, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether lending a helping hand, offering quiet support, or sharing a warm smile, John touched the lives of many and earned the respect and affection of all who knew him.
Following retirement, John looked forward each year to returning to Greece with his beloved wife. He took great pride in maintaining their summer home and treasured the time spent in the place where his life's journey began. He also enjoyed spending time with friends, meeting for coffee, and attending social gatherings alongside his wife. An avid gardener, John found peace and satisfaction tending to his garden and nurturing the beauty around him.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Niki (Androniki) Tsorlinis, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. He leaves behind his loving children: Athanasios (Tom) Tsorlinis (Christina), Athina (Noula) Pachneris (Nick), and Aikaterini (Kathy) Doucas (Alex). He was the cherished Papou of John Tsorlinis (Julia), Nicole Doucas (Karl), Alexandra Bomba (Eugene), Peter Doucas (Jessica), Maria Panacos (Peter), Marianthee Carpino (Adam), Kosta Pachneris, and Yiani Pachneris. He was also a proud and loving great-grandfather to Emma, Isabella, Zoe, Angelo, Xander, Angelina, Maia, and Cora. Devoted brother to four siblings and caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.
John's legacy of love, generosity, hard work, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to inspire those he leaves behind, and he will be forever remembered for the kindness he shared so freely throughout his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you consider donating to the Canadian Lung Association in John's memory.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support received during this difficult time.
May his memory be eternal.
