Mrs. Helena Herawati (Hok) Tanur

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mom, oma and grand-oma Helena Herawati (Hok) Tanur. She passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025 at Union Villa Long Term Care, Unionville.

Born in Semarang, Indonesia on June 5,1927 (Tan Hok Nio). Wife of the late Lukito Tanur (Tan Thian Liep,1984).

Hok was a loving, kind, remarkable and wonderful person. She always had unconditional love for all her family and others. An avid reader, she loved to read novels. She was always generous and ready to lend a helping hand, always ready with her smile. Always so independent and she never wanted to bother anyone, especially her children. She was very devoted to her belief and was active in her church parish and bible study group. She was also the driver for other younger seniors to go to their weekly bible study meet, no matter snow, rain or shine. All of us will miss her dearly, but are comforted knowing that she is now at peace in heaven with Dad and sister, free from all her suffering.

We would like to thank the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital staff on 5F floor for taking care of her during her sickness. Also, many thanks and heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful and caring staff and helpers in the Box Grove Wing who took care of her during her life at Union Villa LTC. You all made her feel at home.
