Peacefully, Gerardo passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital at the age of 82 on May 28, 2026, surrounded by his family. A loving husband and caring father to Ana Maria, Angelica, Johnny and Larissa. He was loved dearly by his grandchildren Jessica, Mariana, Kristopher, Alexandria, Andrew, Rebecca, Kristen, Gabriel and Sylena. He was a proud great-grandfather to Carmen Francesco, Sophia, Presley, and Dario. Brother to Lidia, Carlos, Angel, Luz Maria, Ana Alegria, Miguel, Beatriz, Rafael, Margarita and Jorge. Gerardo was a happy, loving and kind man who always had a passion for music and will be remembered by his sense of humour and love of life. His vibrant spirit, smile and laughter will be missed dearly by all. He will be lovingly remembered by all his family here in Canada, USA, and in Ecuador. His main goal in life was to always keep the family close and united and will be remembered for all the family gatherings he hosted. He has left a great void in our lives and will be deeply missed.

His passion for music started at a very young age when he worked at Ifesa back in Ecuador; then at CBS Records (aka Sony Music) and Cinram Manufacturing here in Canada as a maintenance mechanic. He had many skills, such as mechanic, plumber and electrician who was known to repair almost anything. His pastime included going to the gym and had a passion for soccer and Ecuavoley.
