With hearts forever changed, we announce the passing of George Skicos- beloved husband of 49 years to Nia; devoted father of Bill (Floria), Stavros (Papanty), and Kosta (Sue); and cherished Pappou to Stas, Antonia, Gina, Nathalia, and Geo.
There are no words to express the loss of a man who meant so much to his family and to all who knew him. While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived, the love he gave so freely, and the sacrifices he made to create a better life for his family.
George was born in the village of Paparis, Greece. In 1971, he immigrated to Canada with hope, determination, and a strong work ethic. Through years of dedication, he became a master upholsterer and, together with his wife, built Regency Upholstery. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in his work earned the respect and trust of clients throughout Forest Hill and the Greater Toronto Area.
George will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering love for his family, and deep pride in his Greek heritage. He never lost his love for Greece, his lifelong support of Panathinaikos, or his loyalty to the Toronto Maple Leafs. He worked tirelessly, and always put his family first. They were, without question, his greatest pride and joy.
To his grandchildren, he will always be Pappouli. He loved spending time with them in his garden, teaching them how to care for the plants that he nurtured so proudly.
May his memory be eternal.
