It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Emil Theodore Dyba on June 7, 2026, in Toronto, at the age of 94.
He is predeceased by his wife Patricia Margaret Joan Dyba (née Neill) on May 22, 2025, his mother Olga Dyba (née Komar) on April 19, 1976, his father Michael Dyba on November 25, 1962 and his sister Lidia Vira Chaban (née Dyba) on April 8, 2007. He will be remembered always as a loving father to his three daughters: Kathryn Jane Dyba (and her spouse David Lalonde), Christy Ann Dyba (and her spouse Scot Allan), and Tracy Neill Dyba.
He made our childhoods unforgettable. Some of our best memories are the ski trips he took us on for more than 30 years and the summers spent in Bobcaygeon at the cottage he purchased in 1956.
He worked incredibly hard until the age of 70, always providing for and taking care of his family. We will be forever grateful for everything he gave us and for the example he set.
Emil will be remembered for his gentle nature, enduring strength, and unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted father whose kindness, guidance, and sense of humour enriched the lives of those around him. His memory will always be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, Ontario, M4T 2V8 followed by interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
