In memory of

Eleonore "Lola" Koch

August 28, 1930 - June 1, 2026

After a sudden illness, Lola passed away on Monday June 1, 2026 at the age of 95 at Lakeridge Hospital, Oshawa. She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Karl Heinz “Charlie”, and daughters Barbara and Karen (Shawn Lawrie). She deeply loved and adored her grandchildren: Anna and Felix Scuhr, and Claire and Hannah Downard. Her family felt fortunate to have a few days together with Lola before she passed, during which she dispensed life wisdom from her hospital bed. She expressed that she felt she had a good life.
Lola was born in Bonn, Germany and came to Canada in 1957. She lived the rest of her life in Oshawa, Ontario. Her favourite place on earth was her front porch, where she would sit with Charlie and enjoy all the people and animals go by. A special thank you to her dear neighbours for all their support and acts of kindness over the years: Dan, Yolanda and Gord, Linda, Mark and Bruce. Also, the family is so thankful for the loving, kind care she received from the nurses on 4F – especially, Sam and Katie
A celebration of life will occur on the front porch on Saturday June 6, 2026 at 3pm for friends and family.
