Born in Toronto, Canada, Effie gathered enough experiences in her years to fill many lifetimes. She was generous, courageous and strong-willed. Effie loved Greece and decided to reconnect with her Greek heritage by moving to Athens and building a family there after finishing her French Literature Masters in France. Her Husband, Dionysios and her enjoyed a 42 year long union across many borders, apart and together, but geographical distance never got between them. She valued knowledge, acquiring her fourth degree in her 50s, and spent her last stage of life as a grade school teacher. She held many roles: partner, mother, sister, daughter, friend, storyteller, leader, filmmaker, teacher, photographer, mentor, and traveller. We cherish her time with us and wish her safe travels in her final chapter away from us. She is survived by her husband, her two kids and her brother.
