With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Edward Kubow on March 13, 2025, at the age of 87. He was just a few weeks away from celebrating his 88th birthday. Although Edward suffered from heart disease and kidney disease, he always found ways to push forward even on the hard days, especially having his loving wife Janina, of nearly 53 years by his side.

Edward was born on April 4, 1937, in Poland to Maria and Ignacy Kubow. Edward served in the Polish Navy in 1955 where he was stationed aboard a vessel for most of his service in the Navy. A few years later, in 1960 Edward Immigrated to Canada where joined his brother Tadeusz in Montreal.

In 1969 Edward made the move to Toronto where shortly after he met his wife; both working at The Royal York Hotel. This is where their love story began and became husband and wife on October 14, 1972.

Edward was a loving father and grandfather, he loved his family and found joy in their company. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, he loved playing games with them and watching them grow. He also loved his four-legged grand-furbabies, their cuddling and playfulness provided him with great comfort and happiness.

Edward took great pride in his garden, especially keeping his grass meticulously green. He particularly loved his vegetable garden, specifically his cucumbers and tomatoes, they were a must for every planting season.

Edward is survived by his wife, Janina. Children Robert (Renee), Kristen (Miguel) and Dorothy (David). Along with his grandchildren Alessandra, Massimo and Valentina, all of whom will carry his memory on. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
