In memory of

Douglas William Carrigan

January 24, 1960 - October 7, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved brother, Douglas William Carrigan, affectionately known as Doug, on October 7, 2026, at the age of 66 following a brief illness.

Doug was born in Toronto, Ontario, to Roland and Phyllis Carrigan. He was a thoughtful and intellectually curious person who enjoyed exploring ideas, reflecting on the world around him, and engaging in philosophical and political discussions. An avid reader, Doug had a particular fondness for The New Yorker.
Faith was an important part of Doug’s life. He attended the same church from childhood and valued the sense of community, connection, and fellowship it provided.

Doug will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Mike (Beryl) and Care; his nephew and niece, Alex (Grace Ednie) and Caitlin; and his extended family and friends.
Friends are invited to gather at the Church of the Incarnation, 15 Clairtrell Drive, on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

In Doug’s memory, the family invites those who wish to make a donation to consider Progress Place, the Church of the Incarnation or Scarborough Health Network Foundation in recognition of the communities that held special meaning for him. Links to the donation webpages can be found under the 'Donations' tab of this page.
