Douglas Allan Gibson went to be with Jesus on September 5, 2026 after a life well lived. He is survived by his loving wife Carolyne Gallagher. Predeceased by his wife Fern Gibson, their surviving daughters are Jennifer (Jason)
and Jessica (Bryan) and his adored three grandchildren, Luke, Joel and Alexis. He will also be missed by his older brother Donald aka “Bud” (Sandra) and younger sister Dianne (Stacy) along with six nieces and nephews.
Douglas lived a life full of faith, family and friends. He devoted his life to the service of his Saviour, volunteering with the Gideons International and TransWorld Radio, and spending countless hours at Wesley Chapel and later The People's Church. He was very proud to have been an exemplary General Manager at a Ford Lincoln Mercury dealership for over 30 years.
His greatest earthly joy was his family. Douglas’ wife of 46 years Fern, was his love and partner in adventure and service. After Fern’s passing in 2013, he was blessed to find another love with Carolyne who for 10 years was his helpmate in faith and further escapades. Her three sons, Stephen, Jason (Kathy), David (Sarah) and grandsons William, Matthew brought added joy.
Douglas loved his family and enjoyed spending countless hours with them at weekly gatherings, family celebrations and summers at Wesley Acres. But no one captured his heart quite like his grandchildren, who were the jewels in his crown. Whether it was enjoying a vocal performance or a hockey game, Douglas lit up when his grandkids were mentioned or around him.
