OYAGI, Doreen Takako (née Seto)

Peacefully, with her loving family by her side, at Scarborough Health Network – Centenary Hospital, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Doreen Takako Oyagi (née Seto) passed away at the age of 95, just nine days before her 96th birthday.

Beloved wife of the late Tom Oyagi. Loving and devoted mother of Suzie (Tim Wallace) and June (Richard Harada and the late Michael Shin). Proud and cherished grandmother of Thomas, Ryan, Jaclyn (Phillip), and Erica. Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her warmth, kindness, quiet strength, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Honouring Doreen's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in place of a funeral, as she wanted family and friends to remember her with joy rather than sorrow.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Doreen's life on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Momiji Health Care, 3555 Kingston Road, Scarborough, Ontario M1M 3W4.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Momiji Health Care Society or the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, in keeping with Doreen's wishes.

The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff at Scarborough Health Network – Centenary Hospital for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Doreen and her family and most importantly Momiji Health Care Society for its unwavering support and friendship throughout the past 5 years.
