It is with great pride and sorrow that we celebrate the life of Constantin (Costas) Parlanis who passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026 with his loving family gathered around him. Constantin was born in Amindeon, Greece on April 6, 1931 to Arsenios and Polyxeni Parlanis. He was the oldest of three sons. He is predeceased by his brother Eleftherios (Ellie) and is survived by his youngest brother Athanasios (Maria) who will miss him dearly forever.

Constantin served with the military in Greece as a young man, and later worked as an electrician. He married his wife, Athina, of 65 years on May 21,1961 and they had their first daughter, Kety (Raymond) in 1962 in Greece. Shortly after, Constantin emigrated to Canada and spent his first year here preparing for the arrival of his wife and daughter. In 1967, they welcomed their daughter Evanthia (Gregorio), and in 1970, their son Antonios (Jennifer) arrived to complete their beautiful family.

Constantin continued his profession as an electrician in Canada and worked hard to provide for his family. Constantin was a family man through and through. Everything he ever did was for his children and his wife. His greatest pride was becoming Pappou to his five wonderful grandchildren, Christian, Melanie, Sara, Jase and Ethan, who brought him so much joy and who will miss him so much. Being in his presence and listening to his stories, jokes, songs and countless funny sayings will forever remain in their memories. His favourite thing to do was to break out the harmonica and play songs for everyone at our gatherings. Constantin was also loved by his many nephews, nieces and grand nephews and nieces. Each one of them has many stories to share about him as he was always the life of the party.

Constantin was definitely larger than life. He lived his life his way with no apologies. He loved to talk and could debate anyone under the table. He was social and friendly with everyone he met. He was a strong advocate for injured workers and received an award for his volunteer work from the Injured Workers Consultants. We were so proud of him. He loved to read books, magazines and newspapers. He kept an extensive collection of quotes that were significant to him which his grandchildren will treasure forever. He was an avid gardener and loved doing things with his hands. He did 66 pushups and walked daily no matter the weather right up to the time of his illness. He recognized the importance of movement and healthy food and this is what kept him at a young 95 years old. He was so proud of reaching this age and would joke to everyone he met that he was 5 years old because he lost count at 90 and had to start again.

Constantin lived a long and fulfilling life and we were so blessed to have him for as long as we did. Daddy and Pappou, we cannot believe that you will not be with us physically anymore, but your memory will live on in all of us forever. Until we meet again…
