It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Constantin Badila of Mississauga, at the age of 71. He died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Mississauga Trillium Health Partners Hospital on Monday, October 20th, as a result of a cardiac arrest.
Born on November 29th, 1953, in Bucharest, Romania, Constantin came to Canada in 2010 with his loving wife of 50 years, Margareta Badila, to look after their grandkids.
Constantin was a devoted husband, loving father of two children and proud grandfather of four wonderful grandchildren.
Constantin is predeceased by his parents, Ion and Iordana Badia, and his older brother Gheorghe Badila. He is survived by his sister Elena (Cati) Petre.
Constantin was the beloved father of Camelia Brisca and her husband Constantin Brisca, who reside in Canada, and Mihai Badila and his wife Lucica Badila, who reside in Wales, United Kingdom.
Constantin was extremely proud of his grandkids: Matei Brisca and his younger sister Bianca Brisca (Canada), as well as Michelle Badila and her younger sister Lucy Badila (Wales).
Constantin was an advocate for the rights of the disabled people in Romania. He was the President of Societatea Handicapatilor Locomotori din Romania, a charity with the clear focus of improving the lives and rights of all people, regardless of their disabilities. He volunteered and led this charity for several years.
He dedicated his energy to offer equal opportunities for the disabled, looking into the procurement of wheelchairs and other mobility devices, organizing social events and outings, offering transportation, so that all could meet, share experiences and enjoy quality time together. This was in a former communist country with an emerging democracy, that had challenges catering to these rights at the time.
In his later years, Constantin loved spending time with his family, going on walks in nature with his wife and observing birds and animals in their natural habitat.
Constantin’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Bhatt and the entire wonderful team at the Coronary Care Unit at Mississauga Trillium Health Partners Hospital who ensured the highest quality of care, making him feel comfortable during his final days.
