一九二四年八月二十一日在南京市劉氏大家族有位女婴誕生了。她就是劉舉蕙女士。我們的媽媽。

媽媽有個富裕，平安，喜樂，充滿愛的童年。中日戰爭爆發，摧殘了劉家族。亦為她奠定了一個四海為家，多彩多姿，滿有酸甜苦辣的生涯。

那年她僅僅13 歲。她隨著她母親和兄長，帶著弟妹長途跋涉投奔在四川重慶的父親。媽媽曾就讀一所會計專科學校，畢業後奉父命結婚，接著隨夫婿跨三州，居住八個國家，生養持家，含辛茹苦地將三個兒女撫養長大。晚年定居加拿大。

媽媽目睹自已父親浪子回頭的活見證，決志歸主，時年三十 多。 媽媽愛唸聖經，吸取做人處事的知識及尋求真理。她愛看屬靈的書，反思他人的心路歷程增長自己。她愛音樂，愛唱聖詩，用她五音不全的音韻節奏大聲唱，讚美 神。沒有間斷過。晚年，她勇往直前，定睛在 神。凡事依靠，信賴 神。

媽媽安詳的在二零二五年月二十六日辭世奔向主懷。享年壹佰零壹歲。

On August 21, 1924 in the City of Nanjing, a baby girl was born in the Liu family estate. She is Ms Liu, Chu-Hwei, our mother.

Her childhood was filled with wealth, happiness, and love. However, fate would direct her to a more colorful life experience mixed with sorrow and joy, as well as successes and struggles. During the Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945) while Chu-Hwei was only 13 years old, her mother led the family to SiChuan (a province over 1,000 miles due west from Nanjing -- deep into China's heartland) in search of her husband. It was in SiChuan, Chu-Hwei received her training in accounting. Upon completing the accounting training, she was married to Mr. Tai in a pre-arrangement by her father. During Mr. Tai's career as a foreign services employee of the Republic of China (the current government of Taiwan), our parents had lived in eight different countries all over the world and retired to Toronto, Canada in the 1990's.

Mother became a Christian in her 30's when she eye-witnessed her own father repenting his prodigal ways of living and following the path of conversion to Christianity. She loved to read the Bible absolving the Christian teachings and ways. She too loved to read soul searching topics where she would not only grow her own knowledge base but also her understanding of others' desires. She loved music. She loved singing hymns. Even though she was unable to sing in tune, she would sing very loudly. Praise the Lord. Her continuous devotion to Christianity had never been interrupted for almost 70 years. She forged ahead keeping an eye on God, relying on God, and believing in God.

Mother returned to our Lord, Jesus, peacefully on August 26, 2025 at age 101.
