It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christos Mintsoulis on Thursday April 16, 2026 at the age of 93. After hospitalization with a respiratory infection on March 28, 2026, Christos strove to regain his health but ultimately passed due to complications of his illness. He is reunited with his beloved wife, Artemis, and his eldest son, Stan.
Christos was born on July 21, 1932 in Amyndeon, Greece; son to Michael and Zacharoula Mintsoulis and the third of five siblings; his sister Andromache, brothers- Kostantine and Peter; and youngest sister Toula. Growing up in Greece, Christos was shaped by a close-knit community of family and friends who instilled in him the values of hard work, discipline, and the unwavering devotion to those he loved. It was here in Amyndeon where Christos met his future wife, Artemis, whom he later followed to Canada where they began their new life together… Adjusting to life in a new country was a challenge- one made easier by the enduring support of their lifelong friends Anastasios and Amy Tzekas and good friend Foti Hadziouannou. After first working in a shoe factory, Christos truly made a name for himself as a salesman for Petro Canada, earning numerous accolades as well as the praise of his colleagues and supervisors alike. Achieving the rank of Top Salesman, Christos was known to possess ‘the gift of the gab’; and such was his talent that it was often said he could “sell snow to a snowman”.
On September 30, 1956, Artemis and Christos were married, and that marriage blessed them with two sons: Stan and Bill. When his sons found wives of their own, Christos endlessly doted on them as the newest members of the family, showering them with praise and affection. When Stan married Julie, he’d say, “Giulianka, my first daughter- I love you!” When Noula came along, he would proudly declare that she was his first love, “I loved you before Bill loved you!” But perhaps nothing brought Christos greater joy than becoming a grandfather, a role he embraced with boundless love and pride. He adored his grandchildren—Christopher and Justin (Stan and Julie); Thomas, Everett, Christian, and Madeline (Bill and Noula)—each of whom held a special place in his heart. He also cherished his great-grandchildren, Emma (Christopher and Wella) and Jaxon (Justin and Kristi).
Artemis and Christos shared a passion for travelling, and took every opportunity they had to see as much of the world as they could. Together, they shared many adventures, journeying throughout Greece and the Caribbean - Barbados, Jamaica, Bahamas, St. Lucia, Cuba, Dominican Republic - and Australia, filling their home with cherished memories and mementos, while forming lasting friendships along the way. Those who knew Christos remember his sharp wit and easy charm. Whether among close friends in the warmth of his home on Glen Watford Drive, or encountering new faces on his many travels, his contagious laughter and lively spirit made Christos the life of the party anywhere he went.
He leaves behind countless memories of his hospitality, joy and the unmistakable light he brought into every room. His kindness and presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Christos will live on in the laughter and stories shared by those whose lives he touched.
May his memory be eternal.
