In memory of

Catherine Wright (née Rhyno)

March 26, 1931 - February 21, 2026

With deep love and sadness, the family of Catherine Wright (née Rhyno) announces her peaceful passing at Scarborough Health Network – Birchmount Hospital on February 21, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born in the beautiful community of Head of St. Margaret’s Bay, Nova Scotia, Catherine was the cherished daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Rhyno. Her roots in Nova Scotia remained close to her heart throughout her life. Catherine was a fiercely independent woman, admired for her resilience, gentle humour, and warm spirit. She carried kindness into every interaction and left a lasting, positive impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Above all, she treasured her role as a devoted mother, her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.

She leaves behind her beloved children Evelyn (Richard), Allan and Erwin (Diane) who will forever hold her memory close. Catherine was the treasured grandmother of Angela (Kelsey), Andrew (Suin), Philip (predeceased), Amanda (Jesse), Christopher, Shaun (Juliana), Kimberly, and Matthew (Diana), each of whom felt deeply the love she so generously shared.

A private cremation has taken place. At a later date, Catherine’s urn will be interred at Pine Hills Cemetery in Scarborough.

If desired, memorial donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to the North York Seniors Centre (https://nyseniors.org/get-involved/donate/), an organization whose values reflect the compassion and community spirit she lived by.

Catherine’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
