It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Andree Marie Rose Boardman, who passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at the beautiful age of 95. Andree was a woman of unwavering strength, kindness, stubbornness but most importantly boundless love. She is leaving behind a legacy of warmth, and joy and she will be greatly missed.
Born on February 19th, 1930, in a small village deep inside of Paris, France, Andree was a cherished member of her family, always ready with a listening ear, a comforting hug, warm smile and the driest of jokes.
Andree was highly intelligent and loved numbers and reading, Her love for numbers set her on her career path as a bookkeeper, allowing her to enjoy many different positions under mixed types of business, including owning a dress shop (with her sister, Simone) for many years.
She filled her life with a love for the ballet, puzzles, sudoku and crime dramas. She was particularly in love with the Opera. She could spend hours in a theatre with a look of awe and wonder for a play that she’d seen many times before. Once her son, Jean-Paul, introduced her to the DOS system way back in the day, it had opened a whole new world for her. She played video games, card games, and matching games up until the day that she could no longer hold a mouse.
We will forever cherish the impromptu serenade attempts of Carmen or the Nutcracker. Christmas Eve surrounded by a small tree and a big meal. Watching “who done it” mysteries and fantasy movies which included dragons, were always a must. She shared her favourite tv shows, movies and/or theatre performances with each of us. There were also many day trips, weekend excursions and overseas adventures, that we will have in our hearts and memories of Andree forever.
Andree is survived by her sisters; Pierrette Zell and Denise (aka Nelly or Lili) Laabs, her children; Virginia Wild (nee Boardman) & Martin Wild and Ronald Boardman & Svetlana Boardman, as well as her Grandchildren; Alicia, Ronald III (Denis James - aka “DJ) and Samantha. Great Granddaughter, Delilah Mae. She has now joined her husband, Ronald Boardman, son Jean-Paul Boardman and sister Simone Breukel, as well as her parents Andre Miraille and Marie Miraille (nee Lochet) in eternal peace.
She will be lovingly remembered, and deeply missed by all who knew her.
