After a wonderful 94 years, Raymond John Beverley passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was predeceased by the love of his life and beloved wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Foote Beverley, who passed in February 2015. Married for 52 wonderful years, Raymond and Betty shared a lifetime of love, friendship, and devotion. He is now reunited with her once again.
He will be deeply missed by his loving daughters, Renee McCormick and Pamela Deveaux; his sons-in-law, Kevin McCormick and Derek Deveaux; and his cherished grandchildren, Courtney and Meghan Deveaux, and Christopher and William McCormick.
Raymond was one of five siblings and leaves behind many dear sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends from the Beverley, Bellmore, and Foote and Reynolds families.
A proud and dedicated member of his community, Raymond was a member of the Masonic Order for over 50 years and also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, West Hill Chapter. He was a longtime member of the Cairngorm Scottish Club, where he enjoyed many years of friendship and laughter with his dear friends Glen and Diane Cameron. He also treasured his lifelong friendship with Eleanor and Eddie Hall.
Raymond began his working career as a hairdresser in his twenties, later becoming a pharmacy assistant before spending many years with Domtar Paper as a guillotine operator.
Faith and family were at the centre of Raymond’s life. As a young boy, he was a choir member at St. Barnabas Church, the same church where he later married his beloved Betty.
Raymond’s greatest legacy was the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, gentle spirit, and the deep care he showed to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support, and kindness during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask for donations to be made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation in support of the Palliative Care Unit. The family will be ordering flowers for the funeral, so please refrain from sending flowers.
