In Loving Memory of Barbara May Lynch (Hurst)
September 13, 1951 – July 2, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara May Lynch, who passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at the age of 74.
Barbara was born on September 13, 1951, in the Beaches area of Toronto, Ontario. She spent much of her life in Scarborough, where she built a lifetime of cherished memories, lifelong friendships, and a family she loved with all her heart.
Barbara will always be remembered as a burst of fresh air. She had a beautiful spirit, an infectious laugh, and a wonderful sense of humour that could brighten even the darkest day. Her kindness, warmth, and ability to make others smile were gifts that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a way of making people feel welcome, loved, and accepted simply by being herself.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her children, David Lynch and his son, Justin; Kim Lynch, her spouse Steve McHugh, and their sons Ryan and Brandon; and Shannon Lynch, and her children Kylie, Steven, and Phenix McCarthy. Barbara was also the proud great-grandmother of Harlyn and Maddox, who brought her immense joy.
She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Carol Taylor and her husband Reg Taylor, Robbin Hurst, and Susan Hurst, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives she touched through her compassion, laughter, and generous heart.
Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind. Her love, strength, humour, and gentle spirit will continue to live on through her family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Barbara’s legacy is one of unconditional love, resilience, laughter, and family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers we would like donations to go to Centenary hospital Cardiac care unit for the Nurses (CCU) and Dr. Sarak.
We would like to thank them all for their support to our family in this difficult time with our mother.
*“Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near.
