Audrey Emma Wheeler passed away June 2, 2025 at the Bethell Hospice, after a short aggressive cancer; surrounded by her loved family.
Audrey will forever be missed by family, Donna Wheeler (daughter-in-law), son Glenn Wheeler (predeceased), sisters Doreen Findlay, Christina Boreham, and Shirley Mastine; Grandchildren Michael (Mary) Wheeler, Mark (Sandra) Wheeler, Julie-Ann Wheeler, Scott (Chloe Ching) Wheeler; Great Grandchildren Daniel Wheeler and Kayleigh Wheeler. Audrey will be missed by her loving neices and nephews and many relatives and friends.
Audrey was born on Janury 29, 1934 to loving parents, Amos and Emma Ward (predeceased) in Richmond, Quebec. She is one of seven siblings, Alton Ward (predeceased) Phyllis Findlay (predeceased),Velmar Ward (predeceased), Doreen Findlay, Christina Boreham, and Shirley Mastine.
She was married to J. Nelson Wheeler on October 19, 1950 in Richmond, Quebec. She would welcome in her son (predeceased) Glenn Wheeler, on April 15, 1958 and then welcome her grandchildren Mark, Michael, Julie-Ann and Scott Wheeler.
Audrey moved to Brampton, Ontario in the summer of 1973 with husband Nelson Wheeler and son Glenn Wheeler, where she would become a Teachers Assistance Chef Training with The Peel Distict School Board, where she would apply her skills of cooking and baking.
She was known for her amazing cake baking and decorating, making many wedding cakes and making the children of her school smile everyday. At the age of 60, Audrey retired from the school board and welcomed being officially retired.
In her retirement, she would enjoy the company of her four grandchildren Michael, Mark, Julie-Ann and Scott, as they all enjoyed many days at her backyard pool in the summers, Sunday dinners with the family, and many joyful Christmases.
Audrey was an active member of the Rebekah's Lodge/Odd Fellows, celebrating 65 years of service in 2025 in Richmond, Quebec and in Brampton, Ontario.
In Audrey's past time, she enjoyed dancing away to ballroom and polka music, and line dancing with great friends and family. She was known to always be on the dance floor at a family event or for New Year's Eve and other special events.
The family wishes to extend a warm thank you to all the staff at the Bethell Hospice, where she was taken care of by the best nurses, PSWs, staff and volunteers. The love was well appreciated. We thank you for all your hospitality and love.
