Antoinette "Toni" Titus passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026.
Although she would never have described herself this way, Toni was one of the strongest people anyone could have known. After a long and courageous journey with Parkinson's disease, she is now at peace and reunited with her beloved husband, Gary Titus, as well as her parents and the many family members and friends who went before her.
She leaves behind her son, Andrew; her daughter, Julie; her four beloved grandchildren, Hannah, Jonathan, Jeffery, and Cailey; her sister, Zoë; her brother, David; and many cherished relatives and lifelong friends, all of whom will continue to celebrate her remarkable life and carry her memory forward.
Born in Guyana on June 18, 1944, Toni immigrated to Canada in her early twenties. She married the love of her life and, together with Gary, built a loving home and raised their two children in Scarborough. She embraced life with enthusiasm. Toni enjoyed Hawaiian dancing, playing badminton, and many spirited games of Scrabble. She loved getting lost in a good mystery novel, watching tennis, and spending countless hours researching her family's genealogy. Perhaps her greatest creative joy came from making exquisite porcelain dolls and sewing and crocheting their beautiful clothing alongside her sister and best friend, Zoë.
Toni will always be remembered for the smile that could brighten any room, the enduring friendships she treasured, and the many bike riding adventures she shared as a child. Beneath her sweet and gentle nature was a delightfully mischievous spirit that often kept those around her smiling. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a caring daughter and sister, and a loyal friend whose kindness touched many lives.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
In honor of Toni, donations to the Parkinson’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
