We are saddened to share the passing of Annie Morton at 94 years young.
Annie will be greatly missed by her family. She was a beloved mother to Marylin (Gerald, predeceased), Michael, Kevin (Shirley-Ann), John (Dawn), and Peter (Deborah). She will forever be in the hearts of her grandchildren: John (Kristina), Erin (Keith), Devon (Nate), Danny, Reilly, and Brooke (Kyle), as well as her great-grandchildren: Kathryn, Kara, Liam, Patrick, Sean, and Adelaide.
Annie was born to Annie and John Reilly at Toronto General Hospital on August 11, 1931. Growing up in the Leslieville area of Toronto, Annie met her late husband, Gordon, as a teenager. Annie and Gord were married.
After honeymooning in New York City, they purchased a home in Scarborough, where Annie remained until her passing. Her home was always filled with family, friends, and plenty of snacks—especially her famous onion chip dip and sausage rolls.
Annie’s career led her to roles at Toronto General Hospital and later with the Government, though she always ensured her family came first.
The family is truly grateful to May and Cherry for the care and kindness they showed Annie, which allowed her to remain at home over the past year. They also extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Scarborough General Hospital for their compassion and care during her final days.
Annie will be remembered for her love, generosity, and selflessness. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
