Angela Elizabeth "Ang" Blaney
September 13, 1948 - August 16, 2026
Angela Elizabeth Blaney, age 77, of Toronto, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 16th, 2026. Born on September 13th, 1948 in England, she was the daughter of John and Betty Shirreff.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 51 years, Douglas Blaney; children: Jennifer (Shawn), Talia (Chris) and Nicholas (Brittany); grandchildren: Chelsey and Violet; brother: Bruce. She was pre-deceased by her siblings Valerie and Duncan. She worked at Sunnybrook hospital in medical imaging for decades, essentially retiring to become the world’s best grandma. Those who knew Ang, as she was affectionately known, will remember her sense of humour, her generous spirit and her love of tea, cooking, gardening, shopping, the Toronto Blue Jays and happy hour with family and friends with a stiff manhattan. Her family will treasure the memories of spending time with Ang around a dining room table and at the family cottage.
A celebration of life will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Friday, August 28th from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made in Angela Blaney’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Haliburton Highland Health Services.
