In loving memory
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, devoted husband, cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, Andreas Kakaletris, who passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at the age of 97. He is survived by his beloved wife Kaliopi, whom he was happily married to for 67 years.
Andreas will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his children Helen, George, daughter-in-law Rosy, Julie, and son-in-law Steve. His greatest joy in life was his family, especially his precious grandchildren Stephanie (Mike), Andrew, Michael (Emy), James and his great-granddaughter Sophia (Kouklitsa), his newest addition and greatest joy, all of whom brought him endless pride and happiness.
He was born on April 6, 1929, in Mystras, Sparti, Greece to his parents George and Helen. Andreas was survived by a brother, Chris, and sister, Poli. He is predeceased by brothers Peter, Kouli, Jim and sisters Eftaxou, Patty, Flora and Vasso.
Andreas held a deep love for his roots and talked often about his parents and his childhood home. He was a man of many passions who enjoyed cultivating his vegetable garden, watching soccer, viewing shows about animals, and reading historical and theology books. He loved his wife’s cooking, listening to Greek music, taking long walks, and spending quiet evenings playing cards with Mom. He loved to crack jokes, had a great sense of humor, and was a wonderful storyteller. Being surrounded by family is what truly made him happy.
From an early age, Dad was fondly nicknamed “Kokkinos’” (Red) because of his fiery red hair and complexion.
His gentle strength, humor, and endless devotion to those he loved will be treasured in our hearts forever.
