In Memory of Almerinda Brum Carreiro Da Silva

It is with peaceful hearts that we announce the passing of our family matriarch Almerinda Da Silva who passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 92 on October 8th, 2026, in Kipling Acres Long Term Care Home, Toronto.

Born on the beautiful island of Terceira in the Azores, she moved as a child to São Miguel, where she was raised in a large, vibrant, and close-knit family. The enduring bonds formed during her youth in the Azores shaped her into a woman of deep faith, immense grace, strength and devotion. Family was her greatest joy and her ultimate purpose.

Mother of Rick and his wife (Vesna), and Mary and her late husband (Gary). Proud grandmother (Avo) to 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought endless joy to her later years.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Rita and Beatriz, who will cherish her memory forever, along with generations of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She joins her predeceased siblings in rest: her brothers António, José, João, and Hermano, and her sister Glória. She is now reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Henrique and her mother Ricarda.

May her gentle soul rest in everlasting peace.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, October 19th, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at The Simple Alternative Funeral Home, 1535 S Gateway Rd, (Dixie Road, South of Eglinton) Mississauga, Ontario L4W 5G6. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 am. Procession to the Cemetery will follow the service to the burial at the Springcreek Cemetery, 1390 Clarkson Road North, Mississauga, L5J 2W5.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario.
