In memory of

Agnes Houston

October 23, 1934 - June 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Agnes Houston on June 17, 2026, at the age of 91 at North York General Hospital.

Beloved wife of the late John Houston (1990). Loving mother of Ian Houston and Grant Houston (Jennifer Merrick), and cherished grandmother of Justin and Danielle Houston. She will also be missed by her sister, Jeanette Blue.

Born in Scotland to Adam and Janet Glen, Agnes immigrated to Canada with her husband to build a new life and raise a family. Intelligent, hardworking and determined, she built a career at Canada Post while raising her boys.

Family was always at the centre of Agnes's life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in the accomplishments and happiness of her children and grandchildren. Her love was expressed not only through words but through countless acts of care and generosity. Her unwavering dedication, strength and support were constants throughout their lives.

Agnes will be remembered for her witty commentary and keen intelligence, which could always bring a smile or a laugh. She was a strong and resilient woman who remained proud of her Scottish heritage throughout her life. She found joy in tending her gardens, preparing holiday meals for family gatherings and spending time with a good book. Even in her later years, she delighted in reciting favourite passages and poems that had special meaning to her.

We are grateful for the many experiences and memories she shared with us. While our hearts are saddened by her loss, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace.
Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. To honour Agnes's wishes, there will be a private family service and funeral.
