Our hearts are broken to share the loss of Adam Douglas Cook Ryckman, who passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, surrounded by his family at the young age of 41, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Adam was born on May 9, 1984 in Kingston, Ontario. He was a natural protector, an old soul with a generous heart, a partner in crime, and a friend who was always just a phone call away. Adam loved his family and appreciated the quiet life that the outdoors provided.
He was a hard worker, who started a small business and took pride in his work. Adam was known for his calming presence, endless support and always with a story or laugh to share. He always brought his sense of humour, and beneath the jokes was a heart of gold and a deep love for all of those that are close to him.
A cherished son, brother and uncle, Adam leaves behind his parents, Catherine, Dwayne and Scott, his siblings Jaime (Rob), Jessica, Luke, Crystal, Joyce and Sydni and his nieces and nephews Jackson, Kaleb, Taylor, Avery and Jordyn.
Adam’s legacy will live on in our hearts and memories forever. A private service will be held for family and details of his Celebration of Life will follow. Our heartfelt thanks to the excellent care and attention that Adam received during his time at Lakeridge Health CCU.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity in Adam’s honour.
