In memory of

Zora Dawn Kurtes

May 22, 1954 -  March 31, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Zora (Dawn) Kurtes, who went peacefully on March 31st 2024, in her 69th year. Born on May 22, 1954 in Bitola, Macedonia, Zora was the eldest daughter of Kosta and Tomka Damovski, and loving sister to Luba (Nick) and Maggie. She is reunited with her beloved Mama and brother Joshe. Zora came to Canada in 1971, at the age of 16. It was here that she welcomed her children Steven (Patricia) and Linda (Paul). Zora was an adoring mother who always spoke of her early years raising her children as some of the happiest times in her life. A devoted grandmother, Zora’s greatest joys in life were her grandchildren Victoria, Tommy, Ava, Olivia and Luca. She was a constant presence in their lives and cherished every moment spent with them. Zora was known for her caring and selfless nature, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her unwavering love and devotion. Zora’s diagnosis of Dementia devastated her loved ones. The family is profoundly grateful to Zora’s devoted caregiver, Junaleah (Leah), along with Row and Cyerel, for their loving and compassionate care. They also extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Janice Lessard and to all of the staff at the Alzheimer’s D.A.Y. Program. The family sincerely thanks those who have expressed their condolences and support during this difficult time.
